I realized last night how truly blessed I am. Not that I take my life for granted. I know I have it pretty damn good. I am widening my circle of friends. Some truly amazing people have come into my life recently.
What a great weekend. Friday, I went to private party with my new girl Priscilla (such a kick ass chick, she is dating my roommate Casey). Everyone was plowed by the time we got there, so we had to hurry and catch up. My neighbor Craig talked us into going to into Hi-Tops (a dirty-ass bar that I feel like is so dark I can't see the cockroaches crawling around, but THE place to watch Cubs games.) I was bored with the PDA going on in my vicinity, so I scoped the scene. Checked out a 6'5 hottie that somehow managed to slip into a crowd and never be seen again. Eh, dime a dozen. Forgot about him and convinced the others to join me on a burrito excursion.
So, I am in line, ordering something cheese covered and greazzzzzzzzzy... lo and behold, 6'5 hottie to my left. I exclaimed "You are the hottie from Hi-Tops!" Not a brillant opener, but at this point, my vodka soaked brain wouldn't let me utter anything of remote intelligence. Well, it worked. Not that it takes much for guys. His name is Jason. He lives in Wisconsin. That is as far as I got. Oh yeah, he is a WONDERFUL kisser. Sigh.
I spent Saturday recovering from the effects of Friday. We sat around my neighbor's apartment until it got dark. To go out or not to go out? I was glad I was with the older crowd... we all decided to stay in and watch "Red Dawn" which gave me some creepy nightmares. I am going to buy my son-of-a-bitch (literally) Russian roommate that for his birthday. Hope it gets the point across.
Yesterday was ever so much fun! A bunch of us went to watch the Colts lose to the Patriots (DOH!) at Joe's on Weed St. That place is freakin' enourmous!
We ended up at The Gin Mill around 8. Deserted. Ghost Town. Tumbleweeds. That bartender has to love us. We were hella entertaining. Dancing, laughing, having Karate-Kid styled hand to hand combat, hugging, ordering rounds of shots (who payed for those, by the way?) It was a love-fest. Rob and Craig told me how much prettier I look when I don't try. They said I was a natural beauty and that I didn't need makeup to look good. I have never thought of myself that way. It is strange to suddenly see how you look through somone else's eyes. They are such wonderful guys. I just was loving everyone I was with last night.
I fmay have found a female roommate! Her name is Molly. She is 20. She is a professional ice-skater and one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen. It breaks my heart that she feels like she has no family. She has been a skater for years and basically raised herself. I can't believe someone that beautiful, sweet and talented has feel so alone, but if it takes me telling her everyday how amazing she is, that is just what I am going to do. I have known her for a week, but I already know we are going to be such great friends. I have officially taken her under my wing.
