OH. MA. GOD. We just got MADONNA TICKETS!!!! And as I typed that, the song "Sorry" randomly came on my iTunes party shuffle. I am so fucking stoked! Just got e-mail confirmation:
June 18th. Main Floor. Section 6. Row 1. Seats 3 & 4.
Total charge: $764.81
Yeah, that's not too ridiculous.
Wasn't going to update this week, but I am beamingly happy right now (and not just about Madonna) and I want to remember this moment. Sun is shining. I am wrapping up my lucrative freelance project. I am getting ready to move into my fabulous new apartment. More freelance projects coming my way. Finally got my printed portfolio together. The tax man REALLY smiled on me this year (to the tune of $2,000!). I am booking a flight to LA and putting money away for a Labor Day trip to Spain. Summer is almost here. The light at the end of the tunnel is quite bright. Gotta put on my shades.
I am such a dork.
Recorded yet another radio commercial last night. My boss thinks I could have a real future in voice overs. The money is great and the work is minimal. Sounds perfect to me! Spent last night sitting outside, reveling in the awesome weather in my new neighborhood. We walked from Chicago Ave. up Milwaukee Ave. into Bucktown. I have never seen so many furniture stores n my entire life. Most of them had pimptastic couches and gaudy candeliers gleaming in their windows.
We have decided to do an Italian kitchen theme with a Chicago in the 40's thing going on in the dining room and living room. H wants to buy a 63 inch flat screen. That girl is nuts. She is hell bent on making this place look spectacular and has the fundage to do so. I am just along for the ride.
Alrighty, gotta get crackin' with the tasks of the day. A brief weekend wrap-up...
Friday night, no camera. Supposed to meet with my friend Jeff for dinner, but I got there late because of parking and the place was packed, so we decided to re-schedule. Then went to the Bungalow Lounge for a quick martini before heading to Durkin's to meet an already sauced Dra. We hung out with her cute guy friends and they followed us to Grand Central. One of them kept trying to kiss me, but I wasn't having it. He is really hot and I am very attracted, but he had his tounge down someone eles's throat last weekend right in front of me and Bethie don't play that. My kissing bandit days have long since passed. So H and I grabbed a little LaBamba and headed home.
Woke up bright and early to drive to Purdue for my BF from college' wedding shower. Now, why didn't anyone tell me Indiana (minus NW Indiana) is now on eastern time? I looked over at my cell phone at one point and saw it change from 1:43 to 2:43. which meant I was 43 minutes late. By the time I got there, it was 3. The games had been played and they were getting ready to open presents. So I was only there for an hour after spending 1 1/2 in the car. Thankfully a group of us drove to campus to grab a bite at a campus bar so I didn't have to turn right back around.
My Shoemaker girls. I miss them so much! I am so excited for the bachlorette party and wedding!
Drove back to Chicago after a pit stop to visit my sister. I was exhausted, but was still convinced to come out. met with H and T at this new bar "Central" on Clark. I am SO OVER Wrigleyville, so after 3 minutes, it was time to go. We went to meet up with my buddy from high school over at Landmark, but I just really wanted to go home and crawl into bed at this point. H & T dropped me off and I popped "Cruel Intentions" into the VCR. Overact much, Sarah Michelle?
Sunday was the best day of the weekend! We headed over to LL's place for some girly time. Grilled out, had some Bloody Mary's, talked and bonded. We started to play Trivial Pursuit and they decided the only fair way to play it was 4 against me. We didn't even end up finishing because my superior trivia knowledge both asounded and stupefied them.
The view from LL's rooftop patio.
Please Hammer, don't hurt 'em.
Welcome to the Maxi Pad.
That is one tasty beverage.
So we all got silly and buzzed and had a blast. I love my girls.
Got a fun group to go out with tonight. We are going to hit up some sort of outdoor beer garden type place. Chicago in the spring is a fanstastic thing to behold. Everyone is out and about and in awesome spirits. Unlike the south and west, we fully appreciate every bit of good weather thrown our way.
