What a fun-ass wee(eeee!)kend! Well, at least Sunday was great. Flip cup, Hang Uppe... and best of all... hook-up. But more on that later.
I was torn between going to my parent's house for our family reunion on Friday night and coming back Saturday or staying Friday night and and coming back on Sunday. Decisions, decisions. Luckily, Dan made it easy for me. He asked me to stay and promised to meet my two conditions:
#1. No Boyztown bars. Bethany needs some str8 lovin'.
#2. He had to drive me to get my car downtown in the morning. Which he did. Thanks.
So I stayed. I am glad it worked out that way. I got to hang with Christine, my female roommate who I am coming to appreciate more and more each day. She is such a little ray of sunshine and would do anything for her friends. She is also one crazy bitch and makes me look tame, which I love. All of my girlfriends are so different, yet all so outgoing that I can't help but to strive to be a little more like them.
We headed to some random, shady Irish bar, then a not so random or shady Irish bar, but then decided to go over to Bucktown, an widely untapped neighborhood full of great bars. It's such a haul that you spend more money on a cab then on drinks. My FWB (or fuck buddy, more crudely put) failed to show up. He is actually IMing me right now and ruing that decision.
M***95 (10:01:44 AM): I should have found you at Cans the other night
purduebethany (10:02:10 AM): i had a blast there, but I came home alone and pissed.
M***95 (10:02:18 AM): You should have "run home" to my place
M***95 (10:03:20 AM): I was so in the mood Friday night too
M***95 (10:03:26 AM): Just too tired to go out
purduebethany (10:04:18 AM): lame-o
M***95 (10:05:00 AM): I know
M***95 (10:05:13 AM): You are quite possibly the best sex I've had.
purduebethany (10:08:08 AM): wow, thats a bold statement
M***95 (10:08:19 AM): But accurate.
M***95 (10:09:36 AM): You just really turn me on.
M***95 (10:09:48 AM): It's so hard to not want to just ravish you each time I see you.
purduebethany (10:10:46 AM): settle down over there...
A screaming endorsement for my shagging abilities! Happy Tuesday to me!
Tangent. Ahem.
Saturday blew goats. Upon being dropped off at the garage where my car is parked, I discover that the engine done died. Click-click-click, nada. Panicking at the though of my mom's head exploding, I called Mike, who suggested I go rent a car from Christine, who had the misfortune of having to work on a Saturday. Man, thank God my roommates all work there because it has had definite advantages for me, but I feel bad that they leave way before I do in the morning and return way after. She hooked me up with a sweet little 2003 Cavalier that made my car look like a rusty tin can.
Mother Nature is an egg-sucking whore. It was bad enough to have to go to a family reunion when I am running late and hung over, but it is even WORSE when it downpours intermittently throughout the day. The air was sticky. Flies were everywhere. The turnout sucked. So I just downed a bunch of Pina Coladas and passed out in the guest room. Good times. I woke up to the skeezy-ass DJ asking me where all the good bars are around town and if I would care to accompany him out that evening. I politely declined, citing a tension headache. I later found out he had 2 kids by 2 different women at age 20. Go back to your mom's basement, you scumbag.
I got up early the next morning, greeted by more crap-tastic weather. Got back to sweet home Chicago in record time.
Sunday was great. The weather did an about-face when the clouds parted. Got to the park around 1, heavy ass cooler chock full of booze and chicken in tow. Christine didn't know anyone, but quickly made friends, as she tends to do. We drank, we ate, we socialized and got some much-needed sun. Perfect day. I headed over to The Dorm around 8 and watched the CUBS KICK SOME SOX ASS! Fuck yeah! Sheffield Avenue was a madhouse after the game... and I decided to taunt Sox fans by running up to them, looking all panicked and saying "Shit, I missed the game! Who won?" Then I witnessed on of the funniest things I have ever seen.
A Cubs fan and Sox fan got into a fist fight which led to them rolling around on the ground. This is unusual because Cubs fans are usually so drunk and docile... the Sox fan must have started it. Seeing a random fight is fun enough... but a midget comes running up and breaks up the fight with a broom handle! Fucking hilarious, right? I mean, for a second, just trying and picture this... 2 guys rolling around punching each other and a little person with a broom handle longer than him is poking a stick between them and yelling at them to stop. It was Japanimation adorable!
When I came back to the apartment, a Flip Cup game had commenced. Boys versus girls, so I immediately inserted myself into the foray. 4 women versus 4 men. And guess who came out overwhelmingly victorious??? No one with a penis, that's for damn sure! We won 15 games to 4 or something like that. It was completely immasculating for them. But great for us. One sip! One flip! Ole!
And as drunken nights usually go... we headed over the Hang Uppe, a great after hours bar where a bad time has never been had. Tonight was no exception. The liquid courage and the promise to myself to be more outgoing led me to approach a super duper hot guy and order him to dance with me. He willingly complied and before I knew it we were making out. And the next thing I know, we are in a cab headed to my place. I am not a ho, people. But sometimes a sister has got to get her groove on. I think I dislocated my hip because it makes an odd popping sound when I walk. The dry spell is over. Ole!
I had yesterday off, so I woke up to Mike barging in my room, as he tends to do. Watched the entire 5th season of Sex and the City. How productive. Hung with my girls for a bit then headed home with a burrito in hand and watched yet another DVD. It is super rare that I get to lay around for more then 5 minutes, so I took full advantage.
I watched the news this morning and want to get everyone's opinion on John Kerry picking John Edwards as his running mate. I am a liberal and have already registered to vote, so I want to do my homework on Kerry since I don't like Dubya one bit. Anyone seen Fahrenheit 9/11? What did you think? I am planning on seeing it soon. I thought Bowling for Columbine was great.
And now... an offensive JPG courtesy of the Leon.
