It was Gay Pride weekend here, people! Yay! I love it! I had a BLAST at the parade last year and this year topped it by leaps and bounds!
Pretty fun little weekend. I left work at 3:30 on Friday in order to prepare to look F-I-N-E for a screening of Wedding Crashers we got tickets for. It was rumored that Vince Vaughn was going to actually be there, and since he is #1 on my people-you-can-fuck-and-it's-not-cheating list, I had to go and seize the opportunity. I got a bit hooched up, as did my cohorts. Sista came into town and we were all a-twitter. We headed over to 600 N. Michigan Aveue and started feeling really silly all hoochied up in the broad daylight at a damn Loew's Cineplex. I felt especially dumb carrying around my 8x10 black and white photograph of VV for him to sign. We felt even DUMBER when we show up and it was already full. HORSESHIT! We were so deflated... but I doubt he was even there. Thanks for crushing my dreams, Loew's. Thanks a lot!
I took this right before we left. My eyes are HYPNOTIZING. Stare at them for a sec. Freaky.
We consoled ourselves by going to my fave restaurant in the whole city, Cafe Iberico. We ordered sangria and WAY TOO MANY tapas.
The smoking has got to stop.
After about 3 hours and a $35 tip later, we made a brief but drama-filled stop at Grand Central. Too taxing to get into. I'll just say that certain people are huge drama queens and that's why I no longer talk to them. So there.
We ended up at Duffy's, on Momo's ONLY night off. But we ended up having a blast, as you'll soon see...
We didn't wait in the long ass line, not us, no sir, we walked right on in. Then we immediately found a table right in the middle of the action. It was like the Gods of drinking and good times were smiling down upon us all night long.
Nice tits, Vince.
Come on ya'll! It's time to do some SHOTS!
H looks thrilled.
The biggest Jagerbombs I have ever seen!
Ex-roomie and Dio showed up. We needed a little testosterone around.
Freakin' adorkable!
First, the dancing started...
Angry, angry dancing.
Then the grinding commenced...
Then the molesting commenced...
Then the smoochin got underway...
At 2am, the lights came on and we all got kicked out. We headed over to our crib to make slushy drinks, have a dance party and decorate our fridge...
We all layed low the next day. A tasty lunch at Cafe Bordeux (mmm, crepes!) was followed by a Sex & The City marathon. You can never watch just one! We got through the whole first season. Well, Dio and I did. Those crazy kids actually went out around 12am. I could not remove myself from the couch, no matter how hard I tried. I was gearing up for the next day...
Since I skipped the Pride festival on Saturday, I was all charged up for the parade. We whipped up some vodka/lemonades, stowed them in an old back pack and trekked over to Halsted. We got a decent spot over by Cocktail when the parade started, and I immediately started snapping shots.
The same shirt I wore last year.
Dio has such a crush on my sister. And he should, she rules.
I promised her I'd blur her face, but anyone who actually knows me knows who this is...
Why do I always make that obnoxious face?
LL would kick my ass if she ever saw this. Tee hee.
We decided to wander around and try to get into bars. No sweat. Roscoe's was packed, but you could feel the energy and love all around you. Especially after we started loading up on $12 pitchers of Long Islands. I managed to keep myself relatively sober, so I was pretty proud and I remember EVERYTHING! Thank God, there were some moments truly worth remembering. And of course... I got some of them on film!
The stage in the back was packed with sweaty, writhing men. These are all for you, Oz.
My camera battery was dying, but I took this with my camera phone.
Teenuts was smitten.
WHOSE ARM COULD THAT BE!?!?!? Take a wild guess.
Man! I was awfully pissed I forgot to charge my camera battery. There was some truly, truly, truly outrageous stuff I couldn't take pictures of, but it's all up in my noggin, so for that, I am grateful.
It's 2:03pm and I have not done one lick of work.
Go DL Untitled by Simple Plan. I heard it for the first time on Insomniac Music Theatre on VH1 at 3:30am this morning. AND I LOVE IT.
