So, by now... you know the drill.
It's Monday. I try to entertain you with photographs and accounts of my wacky weekend hijinks.
I need to show you guys this video I took last weekend. I finally got it uploaded on Sunday morning. Sista, I promised... and I always follow through on my promises. So here it is...
And now on to new business...
Friday night, H and I decided what we needed was new outfits and a fun girl's night out. I found bubkiss, but supported H in her attire purchases. T came over and we did some pre-drinking before heading out around 11:30. In the P.M. I felt like a girl of 25 again.
We went to the tourist trap that is the Rush and Division area, but we wisely stuck to a bar that T worked at awhile back. Which meant no waiting in line, no cover, VIP area access and no paying for drinks. Now normally, I can't stand clubby type places, but I do enjoy Funk. The music is always good and it is not as pretentious as the others.
My friends are adorable! Coochie coochie coo!
H right before she lost her memory.
I quickly loosened up after a VERY dirty martini and decided to break it down on the dance floor. I discovered a stripper pole. It beckoned to me. And I could not resist.
DONTCHA WISH YOUR
GIRLFRIEND WAS A
FREAK LIKE
ME?
We tried to head to a few other places, but my tolerance for skeezy club guys was reached, so I convinced them to head home. They stopped at La Bamba. I wisely abstained, knowing full well I had a dress to squeeze into the next day.
Saturday was my friend Natalie's wedding. This girl and I go waaaaaaaay back. Back to party bangs and cuffed jeans. Back to braces and drinking Key Lime Mad Dog 20/20.
I knew there was going to be a lot of people that hadn't seen me in ages, so I wanted to look my very best. I primped for a good hour and did my damndest to suck it in all day. The last time some of these people saw me, I was a buck twenty... oh how the times have changed!
I was in full stress-out mode, thinking we were going to be late, and being late for a wedding is a strict faux pas. We got there at 1:55pm and were still some of the first people in the church. I got to breathe a sharp sigh of relief. Sorry for being such a pain in the ass, pookie.
It was a Catholic mass-type ceremony, complete with foreign dialects and wine sipping. A day and a half later, it was over and we weren't sure what to do with ourselves during that 3 hour gap between the ceremony and reception. We found the reception hall and I was excited at the proximity to my parent's abode. We wasted some time there, drinking Mojitos and watching The 40 Hottest Rock Star Girlfriend's and Wives.
The reception hall was gor-geee-ous. We found my name card and found our table. We quickly came to realize that we got stuck at the Reject Table... you know, the one where all the people you have no idea where to put end up. What the fuck? But I quickly got over it once we recruited to join the table next to us were I actually knew people. Thank God for whatever couple didn't show up to Table 26.
I was totally starving at this point. You better put that finger away!
Aw! He's so dreeeeamy!
I look fun.
Me, Natalie and Crystal. A little older, and a little wiser.
My high school group of girls I hung out with 24/7 were all present and accounted for, save two. No one knows of their whereabouts. I think I heard one sells used cars. We decided to kick off the post-dinner festivities with a round of lemon drops.
They had an awesome 10-piece band, complete with a horn section in lieu of a DJ. It was a classy affair. They played all the Motown hits.
Dude, I forgot how absolutely wacky slash fun my high school friends are. I must make it point to call slash visit more often.
I love the look on her face! Get you some, girl!
My boy Vinnie.
Dio poked fun at my big powder blue wooden bracelet. I love it so. In fact, I am wearing it today. He said it was totally 80's and hurt my feelings.
But then he kissed it to make it all better.
He also enjoys taking random shots of me, especially when I ask him not to. He's like a third grader pulling my pig tails sometimes, I swear.
Hey! I'm up here!
We had a blast. I just love wedding receptions. Here is a video Dio took of me right before we left. Nope, not incriminating at all. It's pretty dark, but turn up the sound. Especially if you are at work.
Sunday was kinda blah. Went to Duffy's for their AWESOME brunch buffet. Crab legs, cheesecake and mimosas, OH MY! We were going to walk over to Lincoln Park Zoo, but the mimosas kicked in and the heat made me whoozy. So we headed back and watched a few movies, including THE NOTEBOOK. Man, I have seen it once before, but I think I cried even harder this time. I am such a wuss.
Oh, I almost forgot! I also promised something else last week. So here you go...
