I am on a roll... another SPECTACULAR weekend, in fact, the best I have had since this summer.
Friday night was my neighbor's birthday party. All-you-can-drink top shelf from 9-12 for $25. They were playing country music and giving dance lessons, so that was something I have never experienced in Chicago before. I was a bit bored at first... and fucking pissed when the Cubs lost... but all that faded away as the Red Bull and Kettle One kicked in. My friend Sandy started dancing with some old dude, so that was good for a few laughs. She's freakin' nuts... she'll do just about anything.
Mike showed up with Courtney, my new roommates Josh's girlfriend in tow. I liked her right away, so I don't think they'll be any drama, unlike the crap I have been put through lately.
Mike, Molly and me.
Jayme and me. A picture of myself that I actually like! Shit!
A little more drunker now...
... a little more drunker now...
So we decided to go somewhere we could get our untz untz untz on at, so we headed over to Barleycorn like clowns in a damn clown car. No one really wanted to go there, but for some reason, that is where we ended up. Lo and behold, I actually had fun! Kon was being uncharactertisically generous and buying Molly and me drinks. All was well until some 4'2 blond bitch knocked our coats to the floor. I was like "What the fuck are you doing?" and she's like "moving your shit out of the way." Having no intelligent retort and just bluntly stated, "your fucking short!" Genius. She like "Well, your fucking fat" which is what girls say to each other when there is nothing else to say. So I come back with "Bitch, I can lose weight, but you'll always be a fucking midget." She sort of charged me, so I shoved her tiny little ass away. Then Molly, Heather and Teresa get in her face and tell her to back off. I haven't been in a cat fight since college. Good times.
Mike, Courtney and I decided to go to Deja Vu. It sucked. I was in the bathroom crying to Molly because we got split up and it was to be the last time I would see her for 4 months. So I went home in a cab alone sobbing. Horrible ending to a great night.
The next day I had a HARD time dragging myself out of bed. I had an even harder time trying to get ready to go down to Purdue for Megan's wedding. My neighbor told me her would drive me and drop me off at my parent's house on his way out of town. We at the last minute, he decided not to go, so I panicked. But he drove me all the way to Munster anyway. Now that's a true friend. I couldn't thank him enough. Now I have to carry through with my plan for his birthday present for sure. More on that later.
I was running late, but I drove like a bat out of hell (whatever that means) and got to Harry's for a pre-ceremony drink by 3:45. I go to hand the punk-ass bouncer my ID and he's like, "Oh you're fine." What, is it my weathered face? My crows feet? All I know is you better ID me bitch and quit making me feel so old! But of course I said nothing and just continued to complain about it for the next half hour.
The wedding was beautiful. Megan looked ABSOLUTELY STUNNING.
Afterwards, I checked into the hotel alone, which I have never done before. The first thing I did was strip off the disgusting, sperm covered comforter and chucked it into the corner. The reception was a slow-starter, but it was awesome to see all the Circle Pines boys and some of the Shoemaker girls I have not seen in awhile. Lots of people had rugrats running around, which made me feel even older.
The food was delicious. The cake was gorgeous. It had mint green icing that matched the bridesmaids dresses.
Wait til the honeymoon, dude.
Megan and the bridemaids doing the cha cha slide.
Stildo re-introduces me to his "little friend."
All the Shoemakers dance to "Shook Me All Night (Nate) Long" a event tradition for me since 1997. Night wouldn't have been complete without it.
Jessi, Donkers, Stildo and me.
I only had 2 or 3 beers, since they were free and everything else was not, so I didn't really ever dance, which is most unlike me. Instead I hung out with Circle Pines boys and plotted where we were going to go after the reception.
Dustin and me near the end of the reception.
Megan, Jessi and I in our best picture yet.
We headed over to Harry's again, but it was too crowded, as usual.
The Ultimate Royer (sssssssss!) has a pitcher in his hand. Look closely, it ain't really the color of beer, now is it? He was asking everyone "Fill 'er up?" as they walked by. I would have puked if someone would have taken him up on that.
So we went to Where Else (where else would we go?) to dance. My favorite bartender was STILL WORKING THERE (proud member since 1996) much to my delight and slight chagrin. He hooked a sister up big time. I bought 4 long islands, 2 Jager bombs and a So Co and Red Bull for the bargain price of $10.24. After downing those and a few shots, bought by these guys:
I ended up on the dance floor, elbowing 19-year-olds left and right. It was like old times, getting my grind on with a CP boy... man, I am glad I flew solo! I would have had a blast with Mike, but the night ended up much much better since I had that hotel room to myself and could "reconnect' with an old friend. : )
I was in a freakin' daze on the drive home. It was the longest ride of my life. I was sore, tired, hungry and hung over like a mutha... but I managed to make it home and Mike even offered to store my car through Enterprise so I could bring it back into the city. What a guy. I got a call from Priscilla telling me to come over to the Cubby Bear because Molly was still in town. I was so excited! I got ready and ran over there. We hung out the rest of the day and drank and drank and drank some more. If you live in Chicago, I recommend the blueberry daquaris at Raw Bar. Damn are they good! Mike and Dan picked Molly and I up and we went to Sports Corner to eat. I got all teary-eyed again when she left, but she said we would go to lunch today. I don't think she will have time, but I would have rather ended it that way then being sad the rest of the night.
So Mo... I will miss you so much! The summer will not be the same without you, but I will see you either in July when I get vacation time or September 4th when you get back. You are my best friend, and I love you!
