Wowie! Randomness personified this weekend. So much so that I needed to take a day (yesterday) devoted to pure sloth. So I did. But here I am again, stickin' it to the man.
Digital camera and I bonded hardcore on Saturday and Sunday. He helped me to remember what it is exactly that I did. A friend from college is getting hitched, so my best friend and two other girls I went to school with came up my my town to celebrate her bachlorettehood. They got this swanky-ass room at the Palmer Hilton, so we trolled the halls for a glimpse of Paris, but after three hours, we gave up and went shopping. Damn H&M! I have been in there 5 times in the past 2 weeks, but I always see something I don't yet own and I feel compelled to purchase it. Ok, I just sat here and tired WAAAAAY too hard to come up with something funny to write. Why do I feel the need to try to be glib all the time? We all have an off day. Me more so than most lately. So I will stick to the facts, and if an humorous anecdote should happen to make its way to my frontal lobe, you'll be the first to know.
The girls display their jazz hands on the bed.
The boys and I had people over on Saturday night. This was our second party, and it was a slow starter. At one point, the 4 of us were sitting on the couch, Honey Brown freshly pumped from the keg in hand, feeling like the biggest losers EVER. But it did indeed pick up. The sound of a keg being tapped is like a cattle call. Moo.
Chewbacca showed up to drink away his sorrows.
Then I proceeded to make out with him. I take it where I can get it.
Sandy, Joanna and I tried to channel some Girls Gone Wild Action, and were wildly unsuccessful.
I got really pissed when I opened up this picture in Photoshop. On my LCD screen, it looked so good, but the camera setting must have been wrong, because it is really fucking blurry. Argh! It is rare I like myself in a picture, and this one had so much potential! Me and my roommates. Can you feel the love?
Sunday was Kon's birthday, so a few of us got dressed up and headed north to his parent's restaurant for an afternoon of lobster, steak and all the vodka you could choke down. What we came upon was police tape and cop cars. Apparently, someone put a pipe bomb in the front of his parent's place. What the hell? We pulled in as close as we could and got a front row seat to Barney Fife and his squad trying to deal with the situation.
Here is the front of the place. Notice the cops on the roof!
They blew it up right before we got there, and here you can see a member of the Bomb Squad discovering another piece of the bomb.
The cops looked like idiots, bumbling around, trying to put up police tape around a 3 block perimeter and failing hugely due to the 72 mile per hour winds. It was entertaining, but we were starving, so we left and ate at Baker's Square instead. We were all pretty disappointed, but none more so than Kon, obviously. What a shitty birthday for him.
We got back and saw that it was on the news already. That Channel 7 sure is quick! I am in such a weird state of mind right now. I need a kick in the ass for motivation. Something has got to change, I just don't know what that something is yet. I have been so happy lately. I was bound to crash sooner or later.
